Get To The Point With Email Marketing Survey Invitations

Wednesday, May 6, 2009 by Sherrie Mersdorf
Sometimes it helps to hear someone else say the same thing, just a slightly different way, for it to really click. If you ever played sports, you can probably relate to this. Your dad may have explained something, but because he was your dad, you didn't really listen. When the coach explained the same concept slightly differently, it clicked! Last week I gave you some tips for creating effective email invitations for your web survey campaign. This week, Drew McLellan shared a few similar tips over at The Marketing Minute for effective emails:

• Get to the Point
• Keep it short
• Be conversational
• Use bullets and lists
• Choose your topics carefully
• Use proven layout strategies
• It's not about you

Drew suggests adding strategic email marketing into your mix. Since we talk about using email marketing to distribute survey invitations, this should be no surprise to readers of this blog. The key though is to be strategic. By sending relevant, segmented emails and email survey invitations, your campaigns should see real results. Email is certainly a powerful and cost-efficient marketing tool. If you have doubts, think of all that paper, postage and manual labor you're saving!
